These terms govern your use of copperliners.com and any enquiry, estimate or order you place through it. The site is operated by Copperliners Publishing LLP (“Copperliners”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use it.

What this website is

The site describes our publishing services, lists books we have published, and lets you ask us for a quote. Nothing on it is an offer to publish, and nothing on it obliges us to accept a manuscript. A publishing relationship begins only when we and you sign an author agreement.

Estimates, quotes and the cost calculator

Our cost estimator and any figure it shows you are indicative only. They are generated from the inputs you provide and are meant to give you a sense of range, not a price. A binding price comes only from a written quote we issue after seeing your manuscript details, and a quote is valid for the period stated in it. Where an estimate and a signed quote differ, the signed quote applies.

Payments

Payments are collected through Razorpay. You are responsible for entering the amount we have quoted you, correctly and in full. Taxes apply as required by law and are shown or stated separately. We begin work on a stage of your project when the payment for that stage has cleared.

Because publishing work is prepared specifically for your book, payments for work already carried out are not refundable. If you cancel before a stage has begun, amounts paid for that stage are refundable less any costs we have already committed on your behalf, such as ISBN processing, cover artwork commissioned, or print set-up. Refunds, where due, are made to the original payment method. Anything agreed differently in your author agreement prevails over this paragraph.

Your manuscript, and what you promise us

You keep the copyright in your work. By sending us a manuscript you confirm that it is your own original work or that you hold the rights to publish it; that you have obtained written permission for any third-party text, image, table or figure you have included; that it does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trade mark, privacy or reputation; and that it does not contain anything unlawful. You also confirm that any factual or research claim in it is yours, and that any plagiarism, fabrication or breach of academic integrity in the work is your responsibility, not ours.

You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or cost arising from a breach of those confirmations. We may decline or discontinue a project if we believe in good faith that the work infringes someone’s rights or breaches the law, and we may do so at any stage.

Confidentiality

We treat unpublished manuscripts as confidential and share them only with the editors, designers, printers and distributors working on your book. See our privacy policy for how we handle your data.

ISBN, print and distribution

ISBNs in India are issued free of charge by the Raja Rammohun Roy National Agency, a government body, and we do not charge for the number itself — only for handling the application where you ask us to. Allotment timelines are the agency’s, not ours. Where we arrange retail or online listings, we cannot control a retailer’s pricing, stock decisions, delivery times or whether a listing stays live, and we make no promise about sales, reviews, rankings or availability in any particular market.

Our content

The text, design, logo, articles and guides on this site belong to Copperliners or to the authors credited on them. You may read them, link to them, and quote short extracts with attribution. You may not republish them substantially, sell them, or use them to train a commercial model without our written permission. Book titles, cover art and author photographs belong to their authors and rights holders.

Acceptable use

Please do not attempt to break into, overload, scrape at scale, or interfere with the site or the systems behind it; submit malware; impersonate someone else; or use our enquiry forms to send unsolicited commercial messages.

Third-party links and services

The site links to external sites, including the ISBN agency’s portal and retailers that stock our books, and relies on third-party services such as Razorpay, Google and Meta. We do not control those sites and services and are not responsible for their content or their policies.

No professional advice

Our articles and guides — including anything we publish about ISBN registration, publishing costs or academic publishing — are general information, written in good faith and accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time. They are not legal, tax or financial advice, official procedures can change without notice, and you should confirm anything that matters with the relevant authority or your own adviser.

Availability and liability

We try to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw parts of it. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, anticipated sales or goodwill. Where we are liable in connection with a project, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us for the stage of work in question. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Suspension

We may suspend or end your access to the site if you breach these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Kerala, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from use of this site. Where a signed author agreement covers your project, that agreement prevails over these terms on anything it addresses.

Changes

We may update these terms, and the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
